Most children at some point in their early school days will have experienced playing the recorder and the fabled ‘mass recorder’ ensembles at school concerts, conjure vivid childhood memories . This, for those who enjoyed the experience, often led to then trying out the clarinet, as the fingering is very similar, thus making it instantly accessible.

Teaching clarinet to all levels in City based firms, undoubtedly appeals to a wide group of potential pupils, ranging from serious diploma standard musicians, to those who haven’t played since their early school days. With a regular lesson, you see the often miraculous development in our pupils, further enhanced by the opportunity to play in the office orchestra/ensembles etc.

For anyone coming to this later in life, the experience of learning an instrument as ubiquitous as the clarinet, can represent a new lease of life and a very engaging hobby.
