She also studies reeds with Tim Rundle and Steve Hudson and cor anglais with Jane Marshall. She has also played in master classes at the Guildhall with Principal of the Leipzig concertgebouw Domenico Orlando.
Whilst being at Guildhall she has become actively involved in the London music scene as within the first few weeks arriving in London she played with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra in the Royal Albert Hall. She then went on to become the principal oboist of the London Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has taken many opportunities that have come from the Guildhall including playing in various symphony orchestra projects and princpial oboist in the double bill opera; Francesca de Foix and L’enfant prodigee in Autumn 2013. She has also worked for the LSO is several discovery projects working with young musicians around London. In her first year at Guildhall she volunteered with the Hackney Music Service, Southbank Centre, and observing learning through Music with disabled children.
Hannah plays on a Howarth XL which was bought with the help of the Sir John Barbirolli foundation.
Hannah has privately taught the piano and oboe since 2013 and enjoys encouraging students of all ages that music is for everyone and is to be enjoyed.I am very open, enthusiastic teacher, always wanting to get the best out of my pupils either piano or oboe. Music should always be enjoyed no matter whether you are studying for exams or just for fun! I tailor my lessons to the needs of a student. Whether you are a complete beginner or re-connecting with childhood lessons I aim that every student learns something in every lesson and enjoys it.
No previous musical experience is required to have lessons, I teach right from the very beginning, so will teach you how to read music and the theory behind it alongside everything else.
I teach many different genres including pop and jazz as well as classical. I can teach one particular genre if you wish but am just as happy teach a whole range of styles and usually find that playing a bit of everything is most enjoyable.
