Jon joined the army as a musician working in London with the band of The Scots Guards where he was involved in Ceremonial occasions such as Trooping the Colour, Festival of Remembrance, the Queen Mums Funeral, and extensive concert tours of America, Australia, Europe, South Korea, China and of course, Scotland! During this time when possible Jon also worked outside of the Army, backing and touring with Jim Davidson, Joe Pasquale, Paul Daniels and supporting Barbara Dixon.
A residency in the Ritz Hotel London playing 1930s style music with the Mayfair Dance Orchestra and with Muisik Express at the Brit Awards. After leaving the Army Jon has worked on West End shows and UK/International Tours such as Blood Brothers, Scrooge with Tommy Steele and Shane Richie, Half a Sixpence with Gary Wilmot, Cliff The Musical, Drifters, Legends of Swing and Cabaret.
Most recently Jon was working on South Pacific in the Barbican Centre just after finishing an 18 month international tour of Evita. Jon has taught at all levels including Professor of Drums & Percussion at Kneller Hall (The Royal Military School of Music).
